(Omg I am finally done with this presentation OTL sorry for the walls of text aaaaargh how not no write a novel, I cannot.)

Full Name:
Mana Lysler

Age:
22 years old

Height:
6’0’’
Weight:
175lbs
Gender:
Male

Rank/Job: /None at the moment/

Personality:
Appearances can be deceptive and this is precisely the case with Mana. Some would say he’s a quiet young man; others would go as far as saying he is asocial. The first will be right. As for the latter, they are mistaken. Although he doesn’t pay much attention to his peers and although he don’t really make any efforts to befriend them, Mana is quite a charming person but here’s the catch: he carefully chooses to whom he shows his good side.

To tell the truth, this is all about pride and stubbornness. See, our young friend firmly believes he can do everything on his own and that being independent means not to mingle too much with the rest of the world. He believes in the “I do my thing, you do yours.” Eventually, he ended up feeling kind of indifferent to many things and many people. He has a tendency to be a little selfish but is still recoverable at this point. A little bit liar, he won’t hesitate to answer by a falsehood to a question he doesn’t want to answer honestly.

Speaking about people speaking to him, Mana isn’t too pleased when approached by another rebel or worse, a complete stranger. To this end he will end the conversation as quickly as possible or simply walk away without saying anything. However, he won’t mind it if it is a necessary conversation and not just small talk. Most of the time though, if you don’t approach him properly he will most likely show his disinterest in you and seem a little cold.

We mentioned earlier that Mana is a stubborn boy. Add to this the particularly stupid fact that Mr.Stubborn blames the rebels for not being as active as they were before The Fall when he doesn’t do much on that matter himself. Double standards, as they say. Mr. also insists on showing selfish behaviours, behaviours that does not suits him at all and goes against his personality. It results in grimaces and ranting whenever he finally drops the case and show an act of altruism.

Mana has troubles trusting people. The fact is that he knows far too well how naïve he becomes once he lets you become a friend. Also, not so surprisingly, he is capricious and fancy. He loves beautiful clothes and even if starving, you won’t see him eating anything he doesn’t like.

Now let’s take a look at his qualities, shall we?

Quick-witted, he has a passion for learning. He is also very independent and resourceful. Creative, he will easily find a way out of troubles and can as easily spice up a conversation. You have to be ready to hear everything he has to say, however, because Mana is quite direct when asking question, just like a child sometimes doesn’t realize the words he employ can hurt his interlocutor.

Bold, adventurous and brave (sometimes too much for his own good) you won’t see him back down from a fight or any given mission. Also, when he has something in mind, he goes through with it. As surprising as it might be, Mana is empathetic on certain points, especially when it concerns children. He’s actually a good babysitter when no one’s looking. He is also usually very patient.

Intelligent and persistent, theoretically speaking there isn’t many things he cannot learn if given the right resources. Technically speaking though, it is another story. Some things takes him longer to master than the average, mostly because for things such as building small machines and repairing watches, he doesn’t want to rely on books. Well, he doesn’t know where to find them anyways. He is also a very poor blacksmith, compared to his aunt. But the guy is persistent and keeps trying over and over again.

Other qualities on the list would be intuitive, careful and modest. But this presentation is already long enough as it is so I will not dwell on it.

History:
The smell of old paper spreads in the air as a respectful hand opens a journal to a blank new page. It was a present from his aunt, given to him a couple months ago. He had already written many things in it; ideas, information about The Order, his dreams and his thoughts and of course, some obligatory ranting. That respect for books, he had learned it from his godfather. A writer. The same man who had taught him to read and drop words on the rough paper. With half a smile, the young man takes one of the many pens lying down on the floor of what he would call his room and with great seriousness, he starts writing:

Not that I fear to forget who I am but last night, I remembered something. Something I never forgot, something that, as many other things, constantly wanders back and forth in my mind but last night, I felt the need to write it down and I do so today. Just like my godfather, I feel the need to leave something as a proof of my existence.

He taps the pen on his chin, re-reading. That’s not so bad of an introduction.

My name is Mana Lysler and I saw the fall. By that I mean that I saw my parents die, as well as the Elite. I saw the rebels panicking after the loss of their leader and in a way I also saw them giving up. As I have already written many times before, I am angry. Angry at them, angry at me, angry at The Order and the city. I still don’t know what year we are in, but I know I’ve celebrated my birthday 22 times, counting in the years I cannot remember due to young age.

I was born in the rebels’ hideout and raised by the best parents a rebel could ever have. Maybe I’m only thinking this because they are my parents but they were very good to me. My father used to supply me with so much grape juice I never ran out of it, not even once. I never got to know where he got it from. It may sound silly and trivial to you but I believe it was one of the many ways he had to tell me that I mattered. Providing me with grape juice, sharing with me his favourite drink was the same as telling me “I love you” when he put me to bed at night. He played with me a lot, even though he was busy fighting the police. I was 4 years old when he started teaching me how to fight with his good old weapon, which was way too heavy for me at the time, by the way. Still, I enjoyed those moments and after his death I chose to stick to his fighting style. It is my own way of connecting with him, you might say.

I also remember always being in my mother’s arms. She was a kind woman and she used to sing and dance all the time. I remember she would always insist on eating crepes on her birthday. My father would go out of his way to find the necessary ingredients. I loved it when it was my mother’s birthday. I love crepes, especially the thin ones. My father’s birthday was different. He used to spend the day with his friends, playing card games and going outside. It didn’t look like much of a birthday to me at the time. It looked more like a regular day. But whatever the day, he would always come back in time to kiss me goodnight.

Except on the day he and my mother died. That day, I will always remember.

I knew something important was going on. The Elite was here and my mother was with them. Both her brothers and she were part of the team, after all. My father, too, insisted on giving them a hand and I could feel their uncertainty and anxiety as they put me in my godfather’s care. I wanted to go with them but that was out of the question. No one knew what their plan was except for my godfather and he wouldn’t tell me anything. I was terrified, at first. Then I forgot about it and the rest of the day went on with learning and games. Then came the time to go to bed and I waited.

I waited, and waited and refused to be put to bed as long as my parents did not come back to kiss me goodnight.

I never was a turbulent child but on that night, my godfather discovered I could have quite a temper. Eventually he told me my parents wouldn’t come back.

For many days I cried, every morning and every night. From that moment on, many rebels participated in my education. My godfather, of course, taught me how to read and write but he also taught me how to move in the dark and trust other senses as much as I trusted my sight. My aunt taught me how to use the forge and how to fight with my father’s weapon. One of my father’s friends took care of me like a big brother and with him, I learned how to travel in the city from rooftop to rooftop, as well as every shortcut and hiding spot he knew of. Other rebels taught me how to steal, how to cheat at cards and how to spy and read someone’s body language.

Some of them only agreed to teach me because I asked them over and over again. For now, I must say I am a little more trained than the average rebel my age. That is only because at first, learning everything I could think of was enough to keep my mind off the danger zone. I didn’t want to think about mom and dad in any other way than making them proud. Sometimes, training so hard made me forget they were dead. Then it became a habit.

A couple years ago, my godfather gave me mom and dad’s wedding rings, telling me they had put them in his care the day before they died. He said he should have handed them to me sooner, as soon as they would’ve fit in my fingers, but that attached as he was to my father, who was like a brother to him, he couldn’t bring himself to part with them. He died from an infection the following year.

The only people I have left now are my aunt and my father’s friend.

Additional information:
:bulletblue: Likes and Dislikes:bulletblue:

If you ask Mana what he likes, he will probably tell you he doesn’t have much of an idea and that is a lie.
Mana likes drinking grape juice and eating crepes. However, he only does so twice a year. He also likes to look at the stars at night. The rooftops are his favourite spot of all time, be the day or night rainy, windy, sunny or cloudy. The only time he wouldn’t hang out on the rooftops would be when it hails.
Like his father, Mana also likes to build things. He isn’t very good at it however and whenever he works on a project he makes sure to hide from everyone’s sight. Failure shall not be seen by any men’s eye. On the list of the other things he likes there are: dogs, cats, rats, fancy clothes, card games and wine. You will easily see him pet a dog or a cat in the street, feed the rats (even though they don’t need feeding) in the hideout and wear nice clothes. However, even though he enjoys them a lot, you will rarely see Mana join a game of cards and you will never, ever see him drink more than a glass of wine.

What about the things he dislikes? Well, Mana dislikes being asked too many questions. He also dislikes when people try to guess what he thinks—especially when they are right—and people who try to help without him asking first. He doesn’t like the taste of potatoes, doesn’t like to go to bed at night and last but not least, although his favourite season is fall, he hates winter.

:bulletgreen:Quirks:bulletgreen:

Mana have a tendency to touch his chin with his knuckles or whatever he have in hands when he starts thinking or concentrate on something that doesn’t require any physical action.
When nervous, he tends to either play with his right ear or grab one of his dreads.
When annoyed or worried, he will touch his rings.
