Not that the citizens were mean with them or anything, to the contrary, they were quite tolerant and very kind to them, but there were always idiots, and the many travelers who were staying at the village's inn were not always the best people on earth. They could have gone living in Hibrida, but Lucky never really felt like he was part of the community there. Not that he was more part of it here, but since he was living far from the village,

Promptly turning around on his chair, Mendel caught a running Maya that could not do more then than stop moving as she were dragged in the air by her older brother.

- What is that ? asked Mendel as the child was desperately trying to hide something from his sight.
- What is what ? I-I… I didn't do anything !

The child started moving her arms and legs to add to her weight, hoping it would obligate her brother to put her down. Then, seeing it did not had any effect on him, desperate, she started crying and calling for help from someone taller and way stronger than Mendel was.
